The What's New service provides a monthly round-up of native
title information, publications and events and is designed to assist
organisations, practitioners and individuals involved in native
title to access news, information and resources from a broad range

Native Title in the News
This service provides monthly summaries of newspaper articles and
media releases relevant to native title. This publication is
delivered monthly by email and is also available for download

Native Title Newsletter
The Native Title Newsletter contains news on developments in
native title, including case law, the progress of applications,
agreements and future acts. The Newsletter incorporates elements of
What’s New and Native Title in the News as well as providing feature
articles on current issues in the native title sector . The
Newsletter also contains contributions from NTRU staff about the
Unit’s activities and new acquisitions to the AIATSIS collections.
The Newsletter covers a two month period and is available both in
hard copy and electronically. Electronic versions can be received

Reports
The results of NTRU research projects are communicated in our
Research Report Series. These reports cover a range of issues
including conflict management and decision making, legal
developments in native title, taxation, trusts and the distribution
of benefits, prescribed bodies corporate and the management of
connection materials.
A limited number of hard copies of reports are printed and
distributed to research partners and participants. Reports are also

Issues Papers
The Land, Rights Laws: Issues of Native Title issues papers
series is a multi-disciplinary series of short research papers. The
Issues Papers series targets emerging issues in native title
research, reflecting on 'bigger picture' issues in a size and format
that is useful to practitioners and researchers.
Papers can be submitted to the editor for consideration, the
editor will also invite papers for submission. Papers are
anonymously peer reviewed by two independent experts from the
relevant research area the paper covers.
The Issues Papers Series is available in hard copy or from our

Discussion Papers
The Discussion Paper series contributes to the wide range of
discussions on Indigenous issues and policy taking place in
Australia today. Discussion Papers are peer reviewed and provide an
in-depth examination of a topic relating to Indigenous studies.
Papers addressing native title issues are published through the
NTRU, papers addressing other issues are published through the
AIATSIS Research Program. They are available for download online:

The NTRU also maintains a series of resources including:

native title in Australia with statistics on determinations, links
to relevant stakeholders and
