Foundation for Aboriginal and Islander Research Action
FAIRA is an Indigenous rights organisation concerned with human rights issues as they affect the Indigenous Peoples of Australia and elsewhere in the world.

Australian Anthropological Society

The Australian Anthropological Society represents the profession of anthropology in Australia. The Society runs an email discussion network (http://mailman.anu.edu.au/mailman/listinfo/aasnet), produces a Newsletter, The Australian Journal of Anthropology and holds an annual conference.

 

Australian Association of Consulting Archaeologists

The Australian Association of Consulting Archaeologists Inc. (AACAI) is an organisation for professionals working in all fields of contract and public archaeology. It aims to uphold and promote the discipline and to advance the welfare of members. AACAI has developed a Consulting with Aboriginal Communities Policy Document. It is affiliated with the Australian Archaeological Association Inc.

 

Australian Historical Association

The Australian Historical Association is a national organisation of historians, academic, professional and other, working in all fields of history. The AHA publishes and sends to members twice yearly  History Australia and organises regular conferences: a large national conference in even years, a smaller thematic meeting in odd years.

 

Australian Linguistic Society

The Australian Linguistic Society is the national organisation for linguists and linguistics in Australia. Its primary goal is to further interest in and support for linguistics research and teaching in Australia. The ALS publishes the Australian Journal of Linguistics and holds an Annual Conference.
